Perch and Perspective

At Kandu Leadership, we believe wisdom is meant to be shared - not hoarded, hidden, or held for perfect moments.

…It’s forged in experience, refined in reflection, and only becomes truly powerful when passed on.

Welcome to Perch & Perspective - our new leadership blog where we’ll share stories, insights, and hard-earned lessons from decades of leading, learning, and walking alongside remarkable leaders across industries, cultures, and contexts.

Why Perch & Perspective?

The name draws inspiration from the owl - a timeless symbol of wisdom across cultures. In Greek mythology, the owl perched on the shoulder of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and strategy. It was her companion and quiet advisor - keen-eyed, calm, and watchful. Similarly, this blog is our perch: a place to pause, reflect, and offer perspective from years of experience in leadership roles and in coaching and developing other leaders.

We’ve launched Perch & Perspective for a few reasons:

  • To distill leadership wisdom into something real. Not buzzwords, not quick hacks - but practical insights rooted in human behavior, values, and lived leadership.

  • To tell the truth about what leadership really looks like. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s magic. Often, it’s both.

  • To support those leading others. Whether you’re a seasoned executive or stepping into your first leadership role, we’re here to offer stories and tools that help you lead with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

In the weeks ahead, you’ll find:

  • Personal reflections and leadership stories (both wins and missteps)

  • Interviews with trusted peers and clients

  • Actionable advice for real-world challenges

  • Occasional tools, book reviews, or questions to spark reflection

Eventually, Perch & Perspective will expand into a podcast series - but we’re starting here, where we love to begin: with the written word and a clear intention.

So, from our perch to yours - welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
